Research Projects in Digital Health Workforce

Our projects examine factors influencing workforce performance and resilience in digital health, addressing both the health and care workforce, and the specialist digital health workforce across Australia and New Zealand.

Advancing Digital Health Workforce Research

Focused Studies on Effectiveness and Resilience

Our research explores how digital health professionals adapt to evolving technologies and complex care environments, identifying factors that enhance workforce performance and sustainability.
We investigate strategies that strengthen resilience among both general health workers and digital health specialists, addressing challenges such as burnout, skill gaps, and rapid digital transformation.
Projects include evaluating training programs, workflow integration, and technology adoption to improve workforce readiness and patient outcomes across Australia and New Zealand.
By combining quantitative data and qualitative insights, our studies provide actionable evidence to inform policy, workforce planning, and innovation in digital health services.

Specialist workforce census

The Australian and New Zealand Specialist Digital Health Workforce Census is a survey of professionals that work in roles responsible for health data, information, knowledge, and technology. It is held every three years and captures information about the workforce, including the roles, education, professional development, and workforce intentions. It is used by employers, government, educators and others to plan for the workforce.
